About my ghost story.
It’s another Ashbury book. There are two new characters, mysterious strangers named Amelia and Riley. It also features Lydia and Emily (from The Year of Secret Assignments/Finding Cassie Crazy), and Toby (from Bindy Mackenzie).
I’ve been working on this book for almost three years, and I’ll tell you a secret: all I want now is praise. One year of chocolate and praise.

Hurray for you! Hurray for you! (So there is one day of praise, it's the best I can do at the moment, I'm afraid.) I'm glad you've finished! (I just re-read Feeling Sorry for Celia so I'm looking forward to it already but am also pleased for you for less selfish reasons!)

WELL DONE and YAY and HOORAY and if you're feeling a bit more formal or slightly odd HOORAH. I am very very excited about reading it. Also, I think there is no problem with a year of chocolate. In fact, it sounds like an excellent idea. I don't know if they have them there, but Giant Buttons are very tasty and more-ish. I don't quite understand the resealable packs though? Once you start, why would you stop?
YAY again.

Congrats on finishing!

I love Lydia and Emily :)

haha, can't wait to read it!

It turns out to be a good idea to say that I feel like praise because then I get it. Thank you all very much for being so obliging. The praise made me very happy. I must be careful not to over-use this technique though. You've gotta earn praise, not just demand it. I guess. And no, I don't think we do have Giant Buttons here, Katie, I will have to fly your way to get them. And that made me laugh, your comment about resealable packs. And yes, anonymous, there will be MENTION of Seb and Charlie in the new book. Thanks again to everyone, love, Jaclyn x

Hurray! I've been waiting so long for a new book about Ashbury, so I'm really happy right now, though I probably have to wait longer because I live in The Netherlands and I think it will take some time before I can buy it here.
Do you have 'Cote d'or' chocolate in Australia? If you have, you should take the 'Extra Noir' it's delicious!
I should have read your blog earlier, now I have to figure out when you posted this post so I can start looking for the new book :)!

(Sorry if there's bad grammar)

Thank you, Iris - I am very happy to get your chocolate recommendation and I will look for it and try it. I like chocolate recommendations. I posted this post a couple of months ago, I think - I'm still working on editing the new book right now and I will post again to let you know when it is coming out, as soon as I know myself. And there was no bad grammar at all in your comment! thanks again, Jaclyn xx

I just had a heart attack when I realized you reply to people when they talk to you.

Reply to this message, please, so I can have a happiness heart attack all over again.

I'm incredibly impatient for your next book. I adore you. I want to write like you. Not exactly like you, obviously. Still.

Because of you I picture Australia as a sunny place full of beautiful, crazy, witty people. Just so you know.

I was so happy that you answered my comment but as stupid as I am I forgot to respond back because I didn't know what to write. I don't want to annoy you so I thank you for responding and I hope you found the chocolate I recommended if you did I hope you liked (it would be awesome if you loved it as much as I do). oh, by the way Charlie is adorable!

-Iris (Again, sorry if there's bad grammar, I can't check if it's wrong or right, so you never know)

I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you I just finished Dreaming of Amelia, and you deserve every piece of the praise dished out in the above comments.

I cannot express enough how much I enjoy your writing, I first read Feeling Sorry for Celia when it was first published in Australia (some nine or ten years ago), and have since look forward to reading every one of your books when they are released.
Dreaming of Amelia is wonderful, which both breaks the heart and warms it simultaneously.
Riley and Amelia were both wonderful characters, they have taken a place in my heart next to Lydia, Emily, Cassie, Seb, Charlie, Liz, Christina, Toby and Bindi.
And as for Constance...hahahaha!

Excuse me for gushing (I'm a little bit like Emily in that way), but really you should be extremely proud! A wonderful book I will recommend to everyone I know!

I guess the only thing left to ask is - will we ever hear again from our friends (formerly) from Ashbury? And will we ever find out where life's journey take them?

Love and admiration,
Pandora

Pandora, I cannot think of a kinder or more generous first comment about my new book. Now I feel like I can leave it behind and move on to writing the next one. Thank you! And 'Dreaming of Amelia' is TECHNICALLY supposed to be the final Ashbury book, but I think I'd like to write about Emily's little brother one day - and then we could find out what Em and everybody else are doing. Thanks again, Jx

I just finished Dreaming of Amelia!

My gosh it was wonderful... almost as Finding Cassie Crazy! I loved that Lydia and Emily made a return - their characters were so real and well-developed that I wanted to know what happened to them! I absolutely adored the last few pages with Seb and Lydia... but will we ever get to hear more about what happens with Em and Charlie?

Congratulations on writing another fabulous book!
